Cream Cheese with Green Onions and Chives

A spreadable cream cheese with green onions and chives, perfect for dipping veggies or spreading onto bagels!

8 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons milk or sour cream
1 tablespoon (packed) fresh green onions, sliced thinly or minced*
1 tablespoon (packed) fresh chives, sliced thinly or minced
A sprinkle of garlic salt and a dash of pepper

1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Beat with electric mixer until fluffy and well-mixed. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

*I usually include a small amount of the white bulb of the green onion (minced). You can use the white part if you like a stronger onion flavor.

This recipe is strong enough for me, but it depends on how you're using it, as well. For example, you may want a milder dip for veggies and a hotter, more-onion flavor for spreading on bagels. Just add more green onions or chives to adjust the flavor.

This is a great green onion and chives cream cheese spread! I think it tastes just as good or better than any of the comparable commercial cream cheese dips. It's easy to make, too! My rating: 10/10

Tasty, easy, and quick
I made a vegan version of this with Tofutti "Better than cream cheese" and almond milk. It came out great. Excellent with veggies and on a bagel, like you said!
