How much time each day do you usually spend preparing food?

Hi,

I put down 1 hour, and after I submitted my answer I realized that if it was a baking day it would easily be 2 hours, so it kind of depends.

Our daughter is allergic to nuts and potatoes so I make all our own breads and baking because it is just too hard to find good stuff that is not possibly tainted with nuts, and call me crazy, but cookies are not worth a trip to the ER. :-)

Besides, home baked tastes better! And I bake and our daughter colors, so it is a mommy and daughter project.

I hour

I voted for one hour but it does depend on the day/meal. Certainly more time would be allowed for baking but I don't do that every day.

Perhaps, I should have put 2 hours

I put down one hour, but yet, the time spent in the kitchen does vary, depending on what meals are planned and how much time we have.

About 1...

I usually spend about one hour, as most days I make breakfast and dinner. Sometimes I spend more time, when I make bread though. However, I still live with my parents...but once I get married, it will probably be more time, since Mom won't be there to help!

Lots of time here

We do mostly from scratch here, due to food allergies/sensativities.

There are days I'd really love to just run to McDonald's, but it's not an option. It's a lot of work, but much cheaper to do from scratch!

We avoid food dyes, artificial flavors (including artificial sweeteners), corn syrup and certain preservatives.

I voted two hours, but it is sometimes more (or less if I use a meal I have frozen).

I voted 30 minutes...but that is because with two sisters besides myself and my Mom, the duties are spread out quite a bit. On Saturdays I spend more time (2-3 hours) in the kitchen preparing meals for Sunday, our day of rest.
