5 Years

Our almond caramel chocolate anniversary cheesecake

Yesterday, Joshua made this almond caramel chocolate cheesecake for our 5th anniversary (today). He even made the caramel from scratch, and it is oh, SO good!! He's been too busy to get the recipe typed up yet, though.

Today at lunch, as Yehoshua was eating some cheesecake, I asked him, "Yehoshua, do you know how long Mommy and Daddy have been married?"

"About... 5 days!" was his reply.

We got a laugh out of that -- since he had obviously remembered the "5" part but doesn't yet comprehend the difference between 5 days and 5 years. ;)

The past few days of sunny, warm (high 40's) weather has re-energized me, and I've been getting out for long walks with the children and just working around the house. Yesterday I hung out a huge load of diapers while both children walked around the yard. It's shocking to think that I have two little boys now, and they both wear shoes and WALK outside! This will make for a fun summer. :) The past 3 summers, I have always had at least one child who couldn't walk. :)

And what a good way to celebrate 5 sweet years together! That pie looks delicious.

5 days... hahaha! I hope you feel that it has only been 5 days since you were married. Time flies when you're having fun.

My husband once told me that being married to me has been like 5 minutes.... (long pause) under water. :) He was relaying a joke he had heard and quickly followed it was a kiss and a wink of his eye. I knew he wasn't serious but still got a kick out of it.:)

Your DH makes such yummy cheesecakes!!!! :)

When he gets the time I can't wait to jot down the recipe like everyone else.
Congratulations on your 5 year anniversary!!!! What a special time to reflect on how much you both have grown not just in the Lord but with each other. My DH and I will be celebrating our 6 year anniversary June 18th and I am stll racking my brain as to how to celebrate since being Americans in Germany makes it quite difficult, but I will think of something.
May the Lord continue to bless you with many more years of happiness...and babies! :)
Love,
Dawn

May YHWH bless you both

I'd like to make it for myself on Thursday, because I turn 30!

Thank you

Thank you all SO MUCH for your sweet comments! :) I will twist Joshua's arm when he gets home from work and see if we can't get the recipe posted before Dana's birthday. ;)

I love hearing about how long you have all been married -- and how fun to know of someone else married on March 12! It isn't the most coveted date, but it's special to us. ;)

Now, time for my nap... :)

Happy Anniversary. I didn't

Happy Anniversary. I didn't have your anniversary written down but just saw your post here. Hope you had a wonderful day!

That cheesecake looks delicious. When I made that last cheesecake(italian), I froze the pieces and stuck them in the freezer where they'd fit. You should have seen how pleased my parents were to find a couple slices that had been missed when they thought all of it had been eaten. :) I think it is the recipe of the year here. :D

Happy anniversary!

Happy anniversary, Tammy & Joshua, and prayers for many more years of blessings! That cheesecake looks soooo good!

I don't know anyone who was married on March 12, but it is my oldest brother's birthday.

Tammy, Congratulations on

Tammy,
Congratulations on your 5th anniversary! How sweet of your DH to make a cheesecake for you two!
It's always nice to be able to go on walks with your children walking instead of strollers etc... =)
I know I'm a little late in commenting... but oh well ;)

Thanks :)

Lindsey, thank you! Your story made us smile, too. :)

Sara and Samantha, thank you! :)

We are very blessed, and "dates" like an anniversary are great reminders of how special each "every day" is! :)
