Chocolate No-Bake Cookies

It's a perfectly lovely day today! Bright and sunny and warm, and Yehoshua turned three this morning.

I had plans for an elaborate strawberry shortcake for him, and then realized that we were out of baking powder. (Actually, I never bought more after Passover!) So we made birthday cookies instead.

These yummy candy-like Chocolate No-Bake Cookies are quick and easy to make, and I used to make them frequently as a child. Today when I got out the recipe, I realized that I hadn't made them for several years. :) There are just too many delicious recipes in this world! ;)

Today I asked Yehoshua what his favorite food was. I thought I would make him a special lunch.  I said, "Is your favorite food pizza? Or maybe tacos?" and he said, "Cheesecake."

I said, "I mean 'regular' food, not desserts. Which food is your favorite?"

"Cheesecake." :) So we had pizza. :)

My clothesline today

So, we're spending the day eating cookies, hanging out laundry (4 loads!), reading books, cleaning the house, and washing dishes. It's too nice out to not be busy enjoying the weather!! :)

CHOCOLATE NO_BAKE COOKIES!!!!

Those are my favorite childhood cookie ever!! Mom used to make them all the time. Sometimes with coconut and/or raisins. Every now and again she added peanut butter. Now I must make some!! Thanks!

Happy Birthday to Yehoshua!

Happy Birthday to Yehoshua! I thought his birthday was in May.

Cute about the cheesecake. I decided to pick up the ingredients for the cheesecake yesterday since we sold calves. Mom found out I was making cheesecake(it is hard to keep it a surprise!) and Mom was wondering if it was "THE" cheesecake. I assured her that it was. :)

Three years old!

What a wonderful day! Happy birthday, Yehoshua!! Three is such a fun age - I've enjoyed all my nieces and nephews at this stage (all 14 of them!). The cookies look wonderful. His comment about cheesecake was so sweet - you'll have to write that down somewhere so he can laugh about it when he's older. :)

I remeber when we were kids, my mum always asked us what we wanted to have for our birthday dinner. It made us feel sooo special, we loved it!

Favorite Foods

I laughed when I read his favorite "regular" food was cheesecake.

I recently asked my 5 year old what her favorite vegetable was. She likes very few. Her reply was, "pickles." In my mind, pickles barely qualify as a vegetable. But, I am not fond of them on the merits of their taste anyway.
