Eat more yummy veggies

I can get tired of veggies pretty quickly, especially when I haven't taken the time to make anything elaborate with them. A pile of carrot sticks, or a big bowl full of leftover peas? I like them, but I'm not going to just sit down and eat veggies for 20 minutes. I'd rather grab a muffins or cookie or bagel or something more immediately gratifying.

So, here's how I get extra veggies in my diet. When I'm ready to sit down at the computer and I'm feeling "snacky", I make myself take a big bowl full of veggies. Often it's leftover veggies from dinner. Sometimes its plain salad, or even plain spinach leaves. It's usually something I don't really want to snack on.

The funny thing is that when I'm blogging, or reading blogs, I don't really even notice what I'm shoving into my mouth! I've eaten huge amounts of things that I normally don't really like to eat. It's much, much better than opening a bag of chips or container of cookies, and then later wondering where they all went.

Veggie snacking at the computer: it works for me! :)

Great idea! If I leave raw

Great idea! If I leave raw veggies out on the counter my kids love to snack on them. They think it's so great to be able to pick out what they want so they eat more of it.
