A chicken in the house

I caught this little green-footed chicken running around in my kitchen the other day! He was so cute, I took his picture. :)

And then, of course, I said, "Yehoshua, don't run around in Mommy's gloves! That's my only pair, and you'll end up poking a hole in them!" Moms always have to spoil the fun, don't they? :)

I've been wearing gloves for washing dishes lately, and it has really helped my hands to not be so dry. I much prefer washing dishes with bare hands (so much easier and faster that way!) but dry, cracked hands (probably from the hot water and harsh dish soap) are no fun. It'd be nice to be able to touch a fleece blanket without it sticking to me! ;)

Yehoshua is very creative!! That picture is adorable - one that will bring a smile to your face for years, no doubt. :D

I know what you mean about the cracked hands! After Mikaylah was born, I washed my hands constantly (and still do!). Even now, with working in a lab, I try to be extra careful about hygiene, so as not to bring anything home to her. I have a hard time cuddling her in her favorite nighttime blanket when nursing, since it is knitted and catches on all my dry spots! I have to get them healed before winter arrives again! :)

Gloves

I started using gloves to wash my dishes a few years ago because I was having a real problem with my nails peeling, cracking, and breaking. It has made all the difference. I feel a little bit like an old lady, but it works, so I'm sticking with it.

That is so funny. The other day I took my 4-year-old for a checkup and she did the same thing with the doctor's gloves. What a cutie.

Gloves

My daughter did the same thing with DH's gloves last winter, but she said she had "monkey feet"! And it did look just like monkey feet! Makes me smile every time I think about it. Thanks for reminding me!
