Help Needed: Pumpkin Smoothies?

Miriam sent me this question/request:

Hi Tammy! I'm looking for a good pumpkin smoothie recipe... Do you or any of your readers have any suggestions?? There's a distinct dearth of HEALTHY pumpkin smoothie recipes out there!

So, dear readers, have any of you made a pumpkin smoothie that used real pumpkin in it? Tell us about it! :)

I've never made a pumpkin smoothie. Would it taste anything like un-cooked pumpkin pie filling? Wink That's how I think egg nog tastes!

Joshua got me a blender for Mother's Day this year, and we made so many smoothies (mostly with kefir!) that I got completely "smoothie-ed out" and ever since morning sickness hit (4+ months ago) I haven't gone near a smoothie. Tongue out

Pumpkin Smoothies

It's not an exact science, but we love to take 2 cups of our frozen pumpkin, thin with milk, vanilla yogurt, or vanilla ice cream; add sugar to taste, vanilla and cinnamon. A special touch is a drop of cinnamon oil which gives it a little kick. It should end up tasting like a cold pumpkin pie.

pumpkin soy smoothies

here's a healthy pumpkin smoothie recipe! A great breakfast or dessert!

Blend:
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup vanilla soy (or any preferred milk substitute)
1/2 cup crushed ice
1 T honey
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Nutritional Info. Per 8oz Smoothie:
5g protein, 34g carbs, 2g fat, 0.5g sat. fat, 0g cholesterol, 4g fiber, 55mg sodium, 162 calories!
*each 8ox cup offers 100% DV beta-carotene, an antioxidant that fights cancer.
