Last Friday, I went to a semi-annual rummage sale at a church here in town. A heaping bag full of things is just $1, and so many times I have come home with special answers to prayer -- things we had needed. :)
This time, I was excited to find a couple maternity shirts, clothing for Yehoshua, a jacket for Joshua, and this beautiful, shiny, stainless steel serving tray.
I usually pass quickly through most of the household trinkets, but this tray caught my eye. Heavy, and so shiny that it's like a mirror, I decided that there just has to be a practical use for such a nice tray.
I'm not sure I want to save it for use only when we have guests (which is about the only time I put food on some special sort of serving platter!), so I'd love to hear suggestions and ideas for incorporating this bit of "loveliness" into our home! :)
Can you tell I'm more of a "cook" than a "decorator"?! :)

Beautiful Tray
You can try sitting in on the kitchen table with your napkins, salt and pepper on it. You could also put it on your piano with your wedding picture on it. It does look like a nice tray to serve tea on.

Hang it on the wall...
It is pretty enough to show all the time and if you can see yourself in it... I would use it just as that... hang it up like a mirror.
Great find!!!

A beautiful center piece...
That tray is gorgeous! In my home I have a mirror about the same size as your tray. I have been using the mirror as a tray and I have put framed photos of my children on top of it. I keep it on top of a coffee table. It would also look lovely sitting on top of a piano, or a centerpiece for your table with maybe a vase of flowers on top of it. Just something I would do with it.
My mum has several similar
My mum has several similar trays. When they're not in use, she puts them on a coffee table in the living room with small decorative objects on it, or picture frames. Or sometimes she just puts them on top of some furniture (piano, bookshelf...). She also uses them for autumn or winter centerpieces with foliage, fruits, etc.
Hope this inspires you a little.

I think you could use it to
I think you could use it to stand candles on as a table centrepiece - I sometimes do that, using a collection of varying glass candleholders, unified by the silver tray - or stand the tray up, with candles in front - it is a little like a mirror effect, but softer and more shimmery.
For power outages
I was going to suggest what Lucy said, but during power outages. Mirrors/reflective items disperse the light around the room to make it brighter. That way, less candles are required. Last time we had an extended outage, I put my floor-length mirror from my bedroom on our dining room buffet behind the candles so that it would brighten the dining room and living room.
Trays
Trays are great to have to use when people are sick and need to eat in the other room, or after a baby is born and you should not be sitting on hard chairs to eat.
I agree with the on top of
I agree with the on top of the piano idea. Or you could put it in one of those table top frame stands/cookbook holders to show it off better. And I love the idea to put candles on it.
