On our wedding day...

I truly think the years have gotten sweeter... and go by faster. :) Six years ago today, I was 20 and Joshua was 24, and we were just beginning our life together. I've grown and changed so much! But I wouldn't change any of it... well, besides all the times I've been selfish... or ruined dinner. ;)

We celebrated our anniversary yesterday due to the availability of our babysitter (my mom). Joshua and I had a nice outing with just baby Ruth along! You will all probably laugh about this, but we went to two second-hand stores, and then went out to lunch at Taco Bell. I love Taco Bell food... and if I'm going to eat out, it might as well be something I can't re-create at home (their chalupas!). Then we came back to our quiet house and took naps before picking up our noisy boys. ;)

Today was catch-up day. I gave both boys haircuts and baths, and did lots of odds and ends. And laundry. Joshua surprised Yehoshua with two of the things we purchased on our outing: Connect Four and Monopoly Jr. Yehoshua enjoyed learning (or starting to learn!) how to play Connect Four, and he absolutely LOVED getting to play the Monopoly game. He had so much fun, and he's learning about counting and adding while he plays! Definitely a good $2 investment. ;)

My to-do list for today was long, but tomorrow's is longer. I'm jotting down ideas for blog posts, but haven't the time (or brain function!) to compose anything worth reading right now. :)

I'm like you -- if I'm going out to eat, I definitely go for something I can't make at home. Otherwise, I'm often frustrated because I know I could make that dish better myself. Taco Bell is one of my favorite places to eat!

Sounds like a nice day.

I was wondering about the monopoly Jr. game.My youngest would love to play monopoly but the adult version takes to LONG.How long does it take to play a Jr. game?I would love to get it for him as a Christmas present if it doesn't take all day to play a game LOL.Oh we love connect four.From the young ones all the way to me and DH :)

Monopoly Jr.

Well, this morning Joshua, Yehoshua and I all played, and it took less than an hour... It's not too long, but still at Yehoshua's max sit-still-and-think-about-counting attention span. :)

It's a fun game for his age, though! The box says ages 5-8. I think older children would get bored really fast with it, since it's SO much simpler than regular Monopoly.

it doesn't take ours to finish.My youngest is 8 so I wonder if I should get it or if he is to old?Hmm.Gonna have to ask around I guess.

Shorter Monopoly

Now that I think about it, isn't there a "short" version in the rules for Monopoly? That might be better for an older child rather than the Jr. version...

I totally understand the Taco Bell and thrift store dates b/c I have chosen that before too!

I tell my dh I'm a pretty cheap date...fun for me is fast food and thrift stores!

Congratulations on your 6th anniversary. The years do fly by :) Don't worry about the date -- our dates consist of going to Home Depot and a resturant (sometimes fishing, too) but we have a good time:)

Sounds like you had a great day!

My DD Anna (5 1/2) loves to play Monopoly Jr! And she usually beats me! We usually set a time limit - like 20 minutes, and then whoever has the most money wins. We also ignore the rule that if you land on a property you have to put a ticket booth on it. I'd rather have her think about whether it seems like a good idea.

measurements

tammy, congrats on your aniversary. yours is the best cooking site ive seen. Ive used lots of your recipies and theyve all been great. my question is how could you measure out a certain amount of dry macaroni or like maybe a certain oz size of block cheese from bigger portions? would you use a measuring cup? I dont know if this is the same type measurment. thanks!!

That's great. I feel the same way about eating out :). I like Taco Bell, too. And since I never cook Chinese, that's one we do for a treat sometimes when we go out.

I hope you will continue to seek the Lord's (Yahweh's !) will in your lives. May He draw you both ever closer.. to each other and to Him.

We will be married 7 years on Monday - St. Patrick's Day! Doesn't it go fast? I have to laugh because during the wedding planning, everyone said, "Don't worry, life slows down once you are married." LOL! These years have flown by. But they have been oh-so-sweet.

I, too, love Taco Bell - how sweet of your darling husband to take you there! My dh doesn't like it, so we never go there. But he does treat me to things we both like - like custard! :)

it's funny....

We just had Taco bell on Tuesday. We haven't had food from there in months (at least 6 months). What irony!

Glad you two got out! Aren't moms great for babysitting!?

Loved seeing the wedding

Loved seeing the wedding pic. Happy Anniversary!! YOu remind me of my daughter, my husband takes each child out to eat for their birthday (one on one) and they can pick the place--no limits. Every year my daughter age picks Taco Bell!!

My husband and I celebrated our FIRST (!) anniversary last week. I can relate to your outing!! We went to nearby Amish country and stocked up on bulk goods :) and then used a gift card we got at Christmas to get take out from Texas Roadhouse! But our best present to each other was the laugh we shared about our FRUGAL anniversary!

Just Beautiful

What a lovely couple you both are, it is so refreshing to hear how glad you are to be married. So many women just sigh and say, well I was too young or whatever. It is nice to see a Happy Bride even six, years later!

I have only known you for a few years so it was fun to find out a few more facts about you :) and when you were married and how long ago.

It's been a loooonnngg time since I ate at Taco Bell but it does sound yummy.
