I love asparagus... my grandma had a nifty asparagus stove-top steamer and it cooks them to perfection. My mom uses it now, and whenever I make them here, I always remind myself that I really should check eBay for one of those. :)

It about two more weeks I can start buying fresh from a local farm.I am very excited about it.I get a plastic grocery sack of it and DH & I eat it almost daily till it is gone and go back and get one more bag to eat before the season is over.

On of my favorite Vegetables.

If it's fresh and cooked right

I love it if it's fresh and not overcooked. Hence, I make my own in the broiler. YUMMY.

Yum.

When I was a child it used to grow wild all along the roadside on our farm. I would pick the tops off and eat them raw!
Now, though my favorite way to cook it is roasting it in the overn after drizzling it with olive oil and salt.

I voted and then realized I wasn't logged in. I love asparagus now. :) Didn't until a year or so ago though and then I finally acquired a taste for it. :) This is the third year in a row I'll be planting some in my garden so I think it should be ready to start eating the first planting next year.

My favorite way to eat

My favorite way to eat asparagus is in a chilled asian salad. You mix some soy sauce, sesame seed oil, rice vinegar, and sugar, steam the asparagus and mix it with the sauce. Then chill it. So good!

Luv it!

My husband likes it boiled and salted, but I prefer it placed in a baking dish, sprinkled with chopped garlic and a touch of olive oil, and baked until tender. Delicious!!!

We have an asparagus patch! I love it wrapped in foil, drizzled in Italian dressing and cooked on the grill. Yummo!

The little, slender ones are ok, but definitely not my favorite vegetable. :P

Grilled

I realized this past summer that I like fresh grilled asparagus. my fiance's brother-in-law grills it and brushes it with a viniagrette and it's pretty tasty! I won't touch the canned stuff. (My anti-veggie fiance says he loves it creamed.)
