The weather turned cold again, but I'm not turning the heat back on! The upstairs of our house is comfortable, but downstairs it's been 62 all day.
The children and I took early naps, snuggled under warm blankets. Then we got up and popped a chicken in the oven for dinner! It's supposed to be cold again tomorrow, so I'll make a casserole using leftover chicken meat for dinner.
And I'm on my fourth cup of hot (decaf) tea! I should probably just put socks on instead of going barefoot. :)

My twin
Tammy, you sound just like me today! It's been hovering at 60 degrees today in my house, and for once I wish it was time to bake something just so I can turn on my oven. I am looking forward to starting dinner soon so I can toast myself with the oven vent for a few minutes...
And yes, putting socks on will help. I keep telling my children not to take theirs off, that yes it looks sunny and warm outside but it's not. All the while I'm running around bare footed also, wondering why my cups of tea only make me warm for about 5 minutes. I thought the cold of spring had passed us here in Ohio. Ahh well, soon we'll be roasting and wanting to sit in front of the air conditioners!

Me too!
My house is cool too and I just put socks on a little while ago. I have a turkey loaf in the oven for dinner tonight. I'd be ready for another cup of tea. Missed the nap under cozy blankets though.
Here also!
It's been cold here as well. I wish it would just stay warm instead of 78-80 one day and 55-60 the next! I've got my thick pink socks on and have drank several cups of coffee.
Weather
The weather here in Colorado is no better. It is suppose to be 80 tomorrow and then 50 again on Thur. Makes no sense. My heat has been set to 65 all winter and in the last few weeks has only come on in the wee hours of the morning before the sun comes up and gets it warm in here. It's nice today (in the 70's) and my house is a very comfortable 76 right now (digital thermostats are great!). BUT we don't have a/c in our house so there is definitely no temptation when it's in the upper 90's to turn it on! Definitely good for the electric bill!
Kentucky, too :)
I used the chilly weather to bake some chocolate chip cookie bars and then left the oven door open to warm up the house. If my feet are cold, then the rest of me feels cold! I usually wear socks, but Mikaylah likes to come up to me, giggling, and say "Offfffff!" and pull on my socks. She has a thing for toes lately. :) I can't resist, but I do get chilly. When she's distracted, I quickly pull my socks back on! :D
Bre in Ky
It's cold at my house, too! I made chicken tortilla soup because we had leftover chipotle chicken and pico de gallo from dinner last night. This would have been a good night for chili! Everyone stay toasty!
Cool here too, I had my
Cool here too, I had my socks and slippers on today. :) Such a beautiful day, but that wind was sure cold, I froze just trying to hang out some laundry. ~Tanya
Chilly Day
I can't believe the temperature change from day to day! Last week the kiddos were out playing with the hose and I was thinking about starting the garden. Now I'm bundled in my slippers and sweater and digging the blankets out for the beds! My kids didn't seem to mind the cold too much this afternoon. Feel free to see what they were up to over on my blog!
Brr!
It must be all over then, because it has been cold the last two days here in Oregon. The weekend was gorgeous, but it's been raining and about 55 since! Brr!
It's a good thing tea hardly has any calories. :D

Here too...
It is cold and wet in Minnesota. I can't get to the closeline because of the lake underneath it and the garden is still mud.
Since I use the oven the upstairs of the house stays around 69ish. So we are comfortable during the day and kid's bedrooms are good at night.
But downstairs where the parents sleep....cold! Last night hubby and I broke down and turned on the heat just for a bit to take the chill out of the air and then snuggled deep under the covers for warmth!
When is summer coming???
Have a peaceful day,
Stacy
YUM!
Tammy,
I just tried both of these recipes last night and my family loved them both! Even my kids that don't normally like asparagus, thought it was yummy. Thanks!
