Instant oatmeal packets, homemade
Sarah sent me this link to a post about making homemade instant oatmeal packets, including various flavors and a price breakdown! We make our oatmeal by the pan full (and we prefer nice big rolled oats for ours!), but the homemade packets are awfully cute -- and would make a wonderful gift! :)

Our experience
We made these this weekend for the first time using the link you have. The kids LOVED it! I also found another site (can't remember where just now) that gave some variations on the basic flavors. We made "smores" packets (mini chocolate chips and marshmallows) and "celebration" packets (random teaspoon of leftover cupcake sprinkles and colored sugars). We also made the basic staples of apple cinnamon and raisin brown sugar. :) Definitely worth our time and money! And the kids loved helping out.
