Social online stuff

After much consternation about whether I really wanted to add another website to my "check daily" list, I signed up at Twitter. So, now you know where to look if you're wondering what I've been up to between blog posts! :)

And, for Facebook users, I started a Tammy's Recipes Website group over there. I know, I know... I'm really getting around these days! ;)

I also wanted to say thanks to anyone who has placed an Amazon order through my affiliate link. I am grateful for the commission (usually about 6%) on the things you were already planning to buy through Amazon! :)

Your visits here, sweet comments, advice, encouragement, and support mean so much to us! I feel so blessed to be able to share whatever's on my heart to such a kind group of friends and lurkers. ;)

I am wondering though... which do you prefer for one-line updates: Twitter or Facebook? Or do you use both? :)

Facebook

I'd like to see updates on facebook!

I rarely, rarely do anything on Facebook. I know, I know, it's all the rage. But I just don't have enough online time to keep up with it--or even figure it out for that matter! But I do use Twitter. A lot. :) It can be so much easier to type an update in 140 words or less, lol. When I first started on Twitter, I had it synced to my Facebook status, so at least my friend on Facebook would see that. But it got to be too much--esp. when there were replies and such that made NO sense on Facebook. But I do like Twitter. I've had a chance to get to know people I wouldn't otherwise have had such a chatty relationship with.

Never heard of twitter

Hi Tammy,

I've never heard of twitter before!

I do use Facebook.

Louise

Both @ once!

Tammy,

I actually have a Twitter plugin for Facebook, so my tweets automatically become my Facebook status. Don't worry, though, the @replies are ignored by Facebook, so it only shows your actual updates.

I have ceTwit for my phone, so I am constantly updating my Twitter, knowing most of my friends will see the updates through Facebook.

Both

Tammy-
I seem to have more "bloggy" friends on Twitter, and friends from "real life" on Facebook...although they're starting to intermix which is fun!
Erin

I have neither :(

I guess I will need to figure out which one I like better and join...lol

Information Overload

I stay away from Twitter and Facebook simply because I'm on information overload with my computer the way it is. I could read all day about having a simple life and then get noting done to truly HAVE a simple life! I guess it's just okay to not know what's going on with everyone all the time.

Ditto Information Overload

I just don't quite get the point, if I enjoy coming to your blog and checking it out why I would want to get on Twitter and Facebook also. I do use Facebook for family and friends and would join your group, but I would probably never check it. lol that sounded snotty, sorry. I really just haven't quite caught the Twitter bug and checking the blogs that I like takes enough of my time. So what exactly is the point of Twitter?

twitter and face book

I also dont do twitter or facebook. will you still do posts here on your regular site?

Don't worry -- nothing's

Don't worry -- nothing's changing here! :)

Twitter is more for one-line journaling... :)

Second both at once

I also second adding the Twitter plug-in on Facebook. Then, you only have to update on one place while both of them get updated so it makes people who have only one of them, or both, happy. :)

Both!

I do both Twitter and Facebook. However, I discovered a Facebook application that allows you to update your Twitter status thru Facebook without going to a different site. Works for me! :-)

Facebook!

I've just discovered Facebook, and am really enjoying how quick and easy it is to keep in contact thru it. It's not a blog, by any means!

I'll be sure to add your group. Thank you for the link!
