How many cook books?

I have 8 cook books. The internet is a great resource! :D I did give away quite a few cook books when we moved, though... Probably about 15... plus a stack of cooking magazines! But I know the recipients are making good use of them. :D

I probably own 5. But they

I probably own 5. But they get almost no use at all. I get almost all my recipes from the web.

Cook books

Between the library and the web, who needs them?!!

hmm

I would have to go count them! At least 11-15.

I have about ten but don't

I have about ten but don't use them much. I seem to keep returning to my handwritten recipe cards though....

Several

I have several that I refer to when I need to use up something specific, but I have 3 that I use all the time: my own recipe box, my good friend's recipe book (she made with her favourites as a wedding gift), and a Betty Crocker one.

Library

I have close 200. At least one from every state.

Too many

I probably have too many cookbooks, but I enjoy reading them for fun. I have several by Tessa Kiros, and the recipes, descriptions, stories and photos are so beautiful that I read them just for a pick-me-up!

Ugh... sounds like I must

Ugh... sounds like I must purge. I know I have a terribly bad cookbook habit. Please don't make me count them. :)

Over 20

I have two large built in shelves/bookcases in my dining room and I keep my cookbooks there, although they only fill up about one of the shelves on one of the bookcases. I also have a bunch of magazines etc.

This past summer I bought a large box of cookbooks at an auction for $8, one of them was from 1934!

I like to sit down in the evenings and just page through them, it's amazing how I can run across a recipe in a book I've looked at a hundred times and I'd never noticed it before. I guess it just depends on what mood we're in or what's on hand at the time I'm looking at the book.

cookbooks

I voted 1-5, but I actually only use two -- Betty Crocker and More with Less. These two cover the foundations of cooking from scratch.

Because I live abroad, most commercial cookbooks don't suit me -- I can't find special mixes and convenience foods.

Of course, I do get recipes and ideas from the Internet.

cookbooks

20+ is an understatement. It's an addiction, really. I collect them and have some oldies and some goodies. I have a few tried and true favorites. And still use a hefty amount from the internet.

6-10 + blogs + library + Internet

Subject says it all!

Cookbooks are one thing I

Cookbooks are one thing I collect (I love the old ones and the ones from churches and groups) I recently found one from the the 30's at an estate sale (along with some old Bibles too!) This one has the recipes I remember my grandmas and great grandmas making and they come out so much better than the new recipes do for me and somehow they taste better too. They are the one thing that I collect that my dh doesn't mind the room tehy take up! ;)

Cookbooks are one thing I collect

I love to read my cookbooks. I will also ask that you not make me count them...let's just say a lot!
If I could find one from my grandmas and great grandmas era that would be without a doubt my favorite. I have tried to dupilate some of my favorites but nothing comes close.

I have seven and I really

I have seven and I really like them all!

23 here

I have 23, but really only use a few of them. :) I do use Tammy's Recipes often. :) ~Tanya - mama to 5 :)

Lots

i love to read cookbooks and they do not just sit on the shelf, I have over 20+! I like to read and when I sit down, cannot always read a story book, so cookbooks are great!

cookbooks

I'm not sure how many I have exactly, but I'm sure its more than 20. I inherited most of my cookbooks from my mom - she loved collecting them. I have an original copy of the first edition of the Betty Crocker Cookbook! I also have all of Rachael Ray's books.

70+

I have a cookbook collection and last I counted, it was in the low 70s. I only use a fraction of them on a regular basis though. :)

18 & Counting

I love cookbooks!! I use my Betty Crocker and my 2004 Taste of Home hardback book the most. I also love the ones that you can pick up from county extension groups. They have lots of practical recipes from everyday people. I enjoy this site too. It always has something that will inspire me on a menu blank day!
Thanks for hosting! DeDe

Too Many!!

I have more then I can count!! At least 150!!
But latly I have been getting alot of my recipes of your website , my whole family loves them!!The Breadsticks are the favorite!

20 Plus....

...and I hardly ever use them. I get most of my recipes from the internet.

I have around 100 cookbooks

I have around 100 cookbooks as well as 3 recipe boxes, 2 3-ring notebooks, 5 years back issues of Cooking Light and several years of Fine Cooking not to mention the computer box full of miscellaneous cooking magazines. I love to read the recipes and get ideas. We live in a very rural location so there is no going out for a pizza or chinese (closest location 65 miles away for both!) In fact we only have one local restaurant open all year round (3 or 4 nights a week except for the two weeks over Christmas when they close down completely) and one bar/grill. I also have many of Tammy's recipes and numerous others on my computer. Oh and a bunch from a newsletter I get. I really do use most of my books! Not every day but at least once a month for all and weekly for others.

Under 10 for sure

I got rid of a lot of them.I use the internet to get most of my recipes now.I love the ones I got from churches raising money. They have some GREAT recipes in there.I will not part from those ones.

I have way more than 20.

I have way more than 20. Cookbooks are my weakness...LOL

Kristy

Is there such a thing as too many???

I have probably 20 cookbooks that I keep accessible. There are more that I have packed away. For me, I read cookbooks like some people read novels. Nothing like sitting by the fire, cocoa in hand, and a good cookbook. My favorites are by far, church cookbooks and I really like home extension cookbooks. One of my 2009 goals is to consolidate and organize some of my collection. Tammy - I think of your family and your move often. I hope you are all adjusting well.
