Vegenaise is wonderful. But it's a bit expensive, so recently, I've been making my own mayo out of soy supreme powder, oil, lemon juice, garlic cloves, onion powder, and salt. It's more economical, I think, and probably healthier too if one is trying to avoid too many "processed" foods.
I like regular ole mayo. I am ok with the generic, but my husband refuses to eat it unless it is namebrand! I just do not like the taste of miracle whip!
Mayo is one of the things I'm picky about brand with. I grew up with Hellmans, but of course in Alaska, it's Best Foods. They sell it at Costco cheaper than the generic.
I have never liked mayonaise, but I adore Miracle Whip! If I can't have miracle whip, I'll take mustard! Unfortunately, my husband and children prefer the taste of mayo, so I purchase Vegenaise. (My youngest is allergic to eggs so I only keep egg-free stuff in the house.)
I am a big fan of Best Foods/Hellmans lite.
This is one area where store brands can't beat name brands. But I remember that on Cheaphealthygood.blogspot.com that she despises mayo and wrote a post all about it.
Mayo isn't just good on a sandwich. My daughter and I have a dairy allergy, my other daughter has asthma and dairy products make it worse. So after a few dishes of plain noodles and tuna or whatever else it was that was suppose to have cheese... we started to substitue Mayo. Not quite as good as cheese - but it does add flavor and helps herbs and spices stick to what you are eating way better than margarine.

Mustard
I prefer the zip-kick of mustard. Yellow, spicy, ground, honey - doesn't matter to me.

Sometimes I will use vinegar and oil dressing, but otherwise...plain!

I use home made mayo. The taste is a bit different but we all got used to it and really enjoy it now.
