You know you don't comb your hair often enough when your two year old sees you brushing your hair and says,
"Going bye-bye, Mama?!"
Nope, sorry Yehoshua, this is just my once-a-week brushing, whether we're going bye-bye or not! We usually only go out once a week, and this week it's not until Friday. :D
Actually, I do comb my hair, but not every day. I wash it and put it in a bun and usually leave it in for a couple days without touching it, or, at most, simply putting it in a more secure bun.
But I would like to do better at making myself look more... presentable on a regular basis. :P Maybe soon I'll post our new schedule and ask for beautifying tips :D

Oh MY!
You don't need any tips Tammy! I think you are beautiful!Just keek smiling.
Smiling is a good tip :D
Thanks for the reminder :D
Ha ha! I've heard things
Ha ha! I've heard things like that from Katie, too! I'll be getting dressed and she'll want to know where we are going. I guess I like comfy clothes too much. ;)
ps. maybe your blog hates me because I come in here from Sage (a reader for Firefox)? Ask Joshua what he thinks...
lol!
Haha... :)
And no, because it does it to me sometimes too, and I rarely use firefox and never sage. Next time it happens, maybe try clearing your cookies. I do that and then it lets me log in. Weird.
I know what you mean. I
I know what you mean. I never imagined how hard it would be to find time to get myself fixed up a little after being a mom. I've found that the best thing is for me to get up early and do all that before the children are awake. I also try to take five minutes before my husband comes home just to refix my hair or add a dash of his favorite perfume or something. He always appreciates that. = )
Looking nice
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Ruth! I always enjoy your comments :)
I think the worst thing is that looking "perfect" is difficult to maintain with children! I could look great in the morning, but after a day of caring for children and cooking and cleaning, I look awful! :)
The other thing is that for me personally, I just can't function with my long hair down and nice clothes on. My hair gets in the way constantly and my clothes manages to get ruined!
Maybe I need to find practical but lovely hairstyles, and get in the habit of changing clothes during the day! What do you do with your long hair all day?? :)
long hair
I am a wife and a nanny. My hair is waist-length and thick. It goes in a bun when it's wet, a ponytail when it's dry, and a braid for sleeping. I wash it every 2-3 days, so it isn't wet every day. I'll wear it down for my husband, but it is more difficult to brush out at the end of the day if I don't put it up.
hair in general
I had really long hair, but in November I got fed up with the ponytail everyday and cut off 14 inches. I got to the point where I felt what is the point of having it long if it is always up and looking bad (because I have extremely thick hair and it is curly and frizzy unless I straighten it-which takes too long). I still have to straighten it, but it doesn't take very long and I don't have to do it every day. This obviously is not the solution for everyone, but it has really worked for me.
I think the best thing you can do is what you are most comfortable with and whatever makes you feel best about yourself! If you feel great with your hair up, go for it!
