Tea Review: Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer herb tea

Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer tea

Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer tea is a minty well-balanced herbal infusion. It tastes more like an herbal health supplement to me than a "tea", and indeed it does contain 20% of the U.S. "Recommended Daily Allowance" of vitamins B6 and B12.

Boasting eleuthero, ginger, chamomlie and other herbs, this caffeine-free blend is supposed to help relieve stress and promote relaxation.

I don't think I've noticed any significant sort of stress-relief from this tea, at least, not over other herbal teas, particularly mint teas. However, it tastes yummy and when I drink it, I imagine things like stress diffusing and tension melting away. Or something.

I've been drinking it every day for a couple weeks now. Maybe my stress level is so low that I don't have any to relieve. At any rate, I like this tea. Don't drink it expecting some sort of miraculous mood-boost, and you won't be disappointed. :)

I will have to give this tea

I will have to give this tea a try. I have tried several teas from Celestial Seasons and have really enjoyed them.

Boo to living in Wisconsin

*sigh* We don't have Rite Aid.... *Sigh*

But Celestial seasonings IS good. I'm naughty and order it online sometimes if I can't find the flavor I want at the store (which I usually can't, thanks to living in a small town!).

Oops

That was me up there posting as Anonymoous. Silly computer and disabling cookies. *sigh* ;)

I agree...Tension Tamer is a great tea. I usually drink it at night during prayer/meditation time over my Bible reading for the day or night. I think the Bible reading is more of a tension tamer than anything! ;)

Just stock up on tea!

Andrea, do you ever go to a larger town's grocery store? When we travel (infrequent as that is) I always enjoy browsing the tea aisles of the groceries :)

This is my cup of tea

I absolutely enjoy the tension tamer tea especially after a hectic day. Perhaps any tea would be just as good and I even have my husband drinking tea in the evening and he is a commited coffee drinker.

Tea: everyone's treat

My husband has never been a coffee drinnker, but he used to drink a bit of soda pop. After we got married, he switched to unsweetened iced tea, and then finally to plain water! :D

Celestial Seasoning Wellness Tea

Hi Tammy, have you ever tried the Wellness Tea by Celestial Seasonings? I picked one up at Walmart because I have been sick with Croup and wondered what you thought about it. Thanks, Michelle(mom of six)

Wellness teas

Hi, Michelle!

I think Celestial Seasonings has several varieties of their "wellness" teas... maybe you mean the Tension Tamer tea with the extra ingredients (I can't remember if it's called a wellness tea!). I have tried it, but it has been quite a while. I like the Wellness Teas I've tried from Celestial Seasonings, but I try to be extra careful about the herbs I ingest when I'm pregnant or nursing, so I haven't had any in quite a while! Celestial Seasonings tends to have good, high-quality herbs in their teas though! :)

I also like Traditional Medicinals brand for medicinal herbal teas... though it can get costly if you drink a lot of it. It's much cheaper to just order the herbs in bulk (or harvest your own, if that's possible!), which is what I do for herbal tea during pregnancy. :)
