Italian Cheese Bread recipe

This week's recipe of the week is a recipe that was originally submitted to our website by one of our guest chefs, Lindsey. This Italian Cheese Bread has become a favorite of ours in the past few months (ever since we first tried making it!) and we've served it to numerous guests who have all loved it!

Italian Cheese Bread is quick enough to make when you're in a hurry (which I do using my bread machine to knead the dough for the initial minutes) and adds a super-special touch to an otherwise ordinary meal. My husband just loves this bread, and so if I feel like I'm serving a less-than-stellar meal, I just add this bread onto the menu and we're all happy!

My two-year-old calls this "pizza" and indeed, it does resemble pizza. The leftovers make a handy snack or lunchbox item, as well! I know Italian Cheese Bread is staying in my recipe box. (And not just because I have it memorized!) ;)

Quick rise yeast?

What is quick rise yeast and how is it different than regular yeast? Can regular yeast be substituted for it? I'm fairly new to yeast baking. Thanks!

Quick Rise Yeast

I believe I read that "Quick Rise" or "Rapid Rise" yeast was supposed to work faster than regular dry yeast. I buy my dry yeast in bulk and it isn't labeled as anything special, just "Active Dry Yeast". It's all I ever use in my yeast breads, and I have (what I consider to be) good success with mine.

Maybe someone else has a more thorough answer? :)
