Prayer request for my brother

If you think of us, please pray for my brother Richard.

Yesterday morning his heart started beating rapidly and irregularly and he couldn't get it to stop. He went to the emergency room and they were able to control it somewhat with medication. Finally, after about 7 hours, he was able to cough hard enough that his heart went back to beating normally. It had been irregular and varying from 140 to 190 during that time. He stayed in the hospital for tests and (last I heard) was getting to come home this morning.

Richard turns 23 on Friday of this week! He's in great shape physically, but it seems there might be an issue with his heart. (It has done this occasionally in the past, but never for so long. The doctors have run tests in the past but found nothing.)

Amanda,

Amanda, I don't remember Candy telling me about Cody's heart problems! I'll have to ask her more next time we talk. :)

The LORD healed me of an irregular heart beat

I sure will pray for your brother Richard.

When I turned 32 I started having an irregular
heart beat too. They call my condition Atrial
fibrillation. About 3 years ago it became so horrible that my heart would go out of rhythm for 29 hours at a time. This would happen a couple times a week. I thought my life was falling apart. I had three children and had no idea how I was going to take care of them since this condition made me bed-ridden. I discovered that certain foods really triggered the problem. Coffee, too much sugar and especially artificial sodiums, sodium nitrate, sodium benzoiate and the one in baking powder.
My cardiologist put me on digoxin to slow my heart down but that only made things worse and I gained alot of weight on that medicine. I became totally sodium intolerant where even canned spaghetti sauce would get my heart going. Finally in 2003 they put me on an anti-arthmia called flecainide. It helped regulate my heart but seemed to cause other problems like numbness in my arms. Even on the medicine I continued having problems with my heart. I would cry out to God all night long to heal me, as it is hard to sleep when your heart is out of rhythm. I have really good news though...God has completely healed my heart!!! And I have been medicine free for almost two weeks now. 23 is still very young and this conditon does not have to become chronic or permanent. If the Lord can take away my conditon, which was so chronic at 36, he can surely do the same for Richard. All the doctors told me that my condition would never go away, they were so wrong because Jesus has completely healed me!! Hope this helps and encourages you.

Praise His Holy Name,

Kathleen in Idaho

*Praying* I know this must

*Praying* I know this must be kinda scary for the whole family. It would be nice to find
out what the problem is and then go from there. May the Lord give the doctors wisdom
and this can be controlled.

Oh, I hope things work out,

Oh, I hope things work out, and that God gives the doctors wisdom to find the problem and a solution... It's no fun. The last couple months my heart has been racing. Today was the longest yet, making me lightheaded and weak. It's no fun. I can't imagine having it as bad as your brother's had it. I prayed for God's healing for him.

Praying!

Oh, I'll be praying for him!

Abigail, Kathleen, Jaclynn, Anne Jisca, Victoria -- Thanks so much for your prayers! Kathleen, thanks for sharing your story! I love hearing amazing stories of healing from our Heavenly Father! Anne Jisca, I remember reading about your heart racing from an older LJ entry. I'll be praying for you, too.

Length of Heart Episodes

A little correction to what I posted yesterday:

Not all of my episodes lasted 29 hours. Most were only between 8 and 12 hours. I did have some that lasted 24 hours and my longest one was 29 hours. Sorry about that. I was typing in a hurry.
