Onion Cheese Breadsticks

Description: 

Miniature breadsticks, bursting with onion and parsley flavors

Yield: 

2 dozen (small) breadsticks

Ingredients: 

1 T butter, softened or melted
1/3 c warm water (110-115 degrees)
1 egg
1 t sugar
3/4 t salt
1/8 t garlic powder
1 T parsley
1 t onion powder
1/4 c grated parmesan cheese
1 pkg. (2 1/4 t) dry yeast
1 1/2-2 c flour

Instructions: 

1. In bowl, combine water, egg, and butter, mixing well.

2. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Knead in enough flour to make a dough.

3. Separate dough into 24 pieces and roll each into a 3-inch log. Place logs in a greased 9 x 13 baking pan.

4. Cover and let set in a warm place for 25 minutes.

5. Uncover, place in oven, and heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 15 minutes after oven is up to temperature (probably about 20 minutes altogether), until edges are golden.

These cute little breadsticks are a tasty snack or side dish! They have a nice flavor and the parsley makes them so pretty! They are fairly dense; soft but not light and fluffy. Yehoshua loves these. My rating: 9/10, not because they aren't good, but because they're not extra special. :)

Loved these!

As with most things I bake, mine didn't turn out so pretty.. or even the right size, but these are so flavorful! I'm definitely adding them to my box of favorites :)

We loved these!

I made these tonight and we loved them! I was surprised by how much flavor they have. I wasn't sure I'd like the onion powder in them but it actually complemented the other flavors really nicely. I'll definitely be making these again - they were so easy!

9/10 Very good!

I thought these were very good. If i were more for plain bread they'd be a 10 rather than a 9. The taste is excellent!

Fun and tasty breadsticks great for a side or a snack (10/10)

These small little breadsticks are soft and overflowing with a delightful cheese, onion, and seasoning flavor. Great alone these make a great site to pizza--and are perfect for dipping into tomato sauces or garlic butter. Sometimes the simple things are best. I have never had anything like this before Tammy made them and they are unique and a nice treat--and our son absolutely loves them. They are a cute, fun food and are the perfect compliment to Italian dishes or pizza.
